The Biscuit Factory

The Biscuit Factory is the UK’s largest contemporary art, craft and design gallery, located in the city’s urban quarter, the Ouseburn Valley; a short walk from Newcastle’s vibrant Quayside. Housed within a beautiful Victorian warehouse, the gallery is also the perfect destination for diners come day or night.

Artisan is our modern a la carte restaurant serving British inspired menus. Listed in this year’s prestigious Good Food Guide and awarded 1 AA Rosette, Artisan features an impressive 25-foot glass wall showcasing contemporary sculpture on display in our adjoining gallery. Our award-winning head chef, Andrew Wilkinson, is inspired by daily hauls from our local producers to create menus which balance a delicacy of technique with an intensity of fresh flavour.

For a more informal dining experience, our newly relaunched Factory Kitchen café is located on the first floor of The Biscuit Factory. Our team, headed up by chef Michael Waugh - who previously worked alongside Marco Pierre White and staged at Noma in Copenhagen - serves fresh, bold flavours influenced by Europe’s quintessential café culture. Our vibrant salads, artisan breads, home baked cakes, freshly churned ices and hearty brunch dishes are paired with a fine selection of speciality teas and coffees.
