Staging the largest wedding show in the North East, the UK Wedding Show returns to the Metro Radio Arena in January 2012 with over 110 exhibitors.

Companies representing almost every aspect of the wedding industry will be in attendance with lots of advice and ideas for couples planning their special day. Whether they are looking to source unusual transport options, fabulous wedding cakes, designer floristry or those little finishing touches there will be plenty of inspiration at the show.

While William and Kate were making their vows at Westminster Abbey a British business were bringing home an international award for the wedding industry. The UK Wedding Shows Directors attended the BSPi conference in The Bahamas the weekend of the Royal Wedding, but it did not stop them from watching the Royal Wedding live even though the coverage started at 4am local time. Some of the other delegates joined in and a party atmosphere was created in their hotel suite to enjoy the coverage.

The UK Wedding Shows’ Directors, Linda Williams and Bev Howard, received the top award for Best International Show Set Up & Function at this years BSPi conference held at Atlantis, Paradise Island in The Bahamas. This will be proudly displayed with the award for Best International Fashion Show which they were awarded the previous year in Las Vegas.

Bridal Show Producers International hosts an annual conference, bringing together wedding show organisers from around the world. It is a forum for their members to attend seminars, network with others and share ideas on exhibitions to improve the experience for their exhibitors, and ensure that it is rewarding for them. There is an opportunity to enter for industry awards and the conference ends with a glittering awards ceremony recognising the work and achievements of some of the best bridal show producers in the wedding business.

Awards were made across seven categories and judged by the BSPi board of Directors. New and revised categories were included this year and the conference was attended by seventy global delegates.

The UK Wedding Shows have now received three awards and the company directors are hoping to build on their success next year. Linda Williams, MD was delighted that the company have received recognition in the face of tough competition for these prestigious accolades, and commented “It was fantastic for us to receive this award in such a splendid setting and with the support of colleagues from within the industry.
